I'm sure this is a bad analogy, but following the logic of Nintendo - shouldn't car companies make it impossible to chip/mod/NOS their products? I'm sure there are millions of other similar issues with other products...

Besides, having a lightsaber on it (a soft spongy one) might protect all those LCD and plasma tvs when kids do the 'lightsaber boomerang thing' right?
