Midway, Sony, and Ubisoft versus EGM?

Video Game Media Watch reports on an editorial by EGM editor-in-chief Dan Hsu alleging that Midway’s Mortal Kombat development team, Sony’s sports game division, and Ubisoft have all banned EGM from further coverage of their products (thanks Shacknews). The issue is said to be EGM's previous negative reviews of these company's products, which relates to other recent stories of publishers attempting to exert influence on game journalism. Their efforts at getting the companies named in the editorial to respond have so far been unsuccessful. Hsu is quoted as saying that EGM “won’t treat these products or companies any differently."

Props to EGM. Maybe if those companies put out some decent games they might get some good reviews. Mmm REVOLUTIONARY!

Mortal Kombat has always been a steam pile of dung after the 2 or third installment. It was novelty in the 90's that you could have 'live action' fighters doing gory shit to each other.
Milking the same old crap for 10+ years when the rest of the industry has moved on is eventually going to net you some crappy reviews.
