Player housing would mostly benefit the roleplaying communties, you know, the people at actually make an effort to roleplay in an MMORPG... But giving that WoW has never really been built FOR actual roleplaying, unlike games like SWG which featured a lot more props and things for RPers to use, adding in player housing doesn't make a ton of sense because there really isn't anything to -do- with them in WoW, unlike what you could do with them in SWG or UO.

It would be intersting however if at some point guilds could capture actual towns for theirselves and fight over them, but Age of Conan will beat WoW on that one...

Where would they put this housing. The game world of wow is pretty small, and houses would look completely out of place. And considering that none of the items you get in the game do anything other than alter your character's appearance, stats and abilities, what would you put in them?

3. WoW "housing" Jan 8, 2008, 14:46 Mr. Tact
It's something I've never understood, but WoW was the first (and so far only) MMO I've played. What are the supposed advantages of this "player housing"?
Truth is brutal. Prepare for pain.

2. Blizzard... Jan 8, 2008, 12:42 Toebot
I don't know why anyone expects Blizzard to do anything more than is absolutely necessary. Until their profits start to decline, it will be all they can do to crap out an expansion every now and again. It's been over 3 years and they still haven't tweaked their code to the point where it doesn't require a weekly reset. It's just plain lame. I guess their coders are too busy taking money baths to have any professional pride.

Blizzard Still Saying No to Player Housing.

Considering the price of some of the mounts, this could be a blessing.
