You're not forced to work together to achieve objectives and you can play an individual game.

I have yet to see any players complete objectives on any server without any teamwork (unless the opposing team completely sucks). If by "individual game," you mean "Go around doing what your class what designed for," then sure. Engineers can focus on setting deployables, spies can focus on backstabbing heavies and snipers, etc. But if you actually want your team to win, you are forced to use teamwork.

The community is already behind the game and more maps have been released now than Counter-Strike Source or the originals...

...TF2 has more custom maps than CS? Seriously? If that's the case, maybe the game has more longevity than I thought.
