sometimes I suspect Derek is a very very clever marketing guy.
Think about it, we ALL KNOW that a Derek smart announcement will be funny, popular and full of great entertainment. I skim over a lot of blues news announcements about new games that don't immediately sound l33t, yet here I am, here we ALL are, talking about them.
Sometimes all publicity really *is* good publicity, especially if you are an independent and want to get noticed. It can backfire sure, but he is still around, still making games. I know he was around when I joined Elixir, and they have come and gone. I know he was around when I joined Lionhead, and now they are Microsoft... Companies come and companies go, but this guy is obviously still making a living.
He must be doing something right.
