Yes that is a single loadout that I have setup. In fact there are more options than what I wrote right there. I left out what types of scopes I use [or lackof, maybe I use a silencer instead to keep myself off of enemy radar] what camouflage I use on my gun [simply aesthetic] and I left out my sidearm [deagle].

You want me to explain the game for you? Do some research for yourself. Doesn't matter to me if you like the game or not. You don't know what perks are? Have you read anything about the game? For a guy who is so adamantly against singleplayer you don't know a damn thing about the MP. Read about it, that's what I did.

That being said, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the SP as I did with the first CoD. You really feel like a soldier against insurmountable odds. I love the infinite spawning, it's all about the push, gaining ground. In the SP I got to play as special forces, a 2 man-sniper squad, a gun cannon on of those giant DC8's or whatever they are. I loved looking through the black and white thermal camera with my superiors getting permission from HQ and then telling me "2 men coming outside the building by the truck... hit em, hit em now... *BOOOM* ... hit confirmed, nice shot!" . This is how SP is supposed to be. In fact it's the first game I can remember beating in a single sitting. And since I had it on veteran I died... A lot. It took me about a single 8 hour session. That damn ferris wheel mission waiting for a heli to rescue me shooting wave after wave of soldiers took about 10 tries and I loved it every time.

I loved the SP of CoD1, but barely played the MP because it just didn't feel right and didn't keep me interested. I didn't play CoD2 because it was more of the same. CoD3 was console only. And CoD4 in both SP and MP has topped my list of favorite games of all time. In fact I would say for SP it's currently tied for first with BioShock and for MP it's tied for first with TF2.

Oh and I forgot to add the intro credits of the CoD4 SP is pure awesomeness. What an amazing way to start a game.

Hey guy, you obviously can explain why I, or anyone else for that matter, would want to buy this game.

simple. cod4 multiplayer indeed has the same gameplay as cod2. but how many people still play cod2? the added eye candy and updated weapons list make cod4 worth buying. unless you like playing on a game server by yourself.

found a solution to my problem with the patch. this is why i was complaining that the first 1.1 patch was rushed out the door. the installation for the 1.1 patch was just drag and drop. this left the windows registry with a messed up version number which the new 1.2 patch does not recognize. i had to uninstall the game and reinstall again but this time run only patch 1.2 installer.

Spwise, this game was awesome at Normal difficulty level. Immersive, your team actually didn`t need babysitting. It was awesome. However, as soon as you up the level of hardness, the sp started to fail imho.

Your A.I. team mates became useless and ineffective. And the enemy A.I. could land a grenade at your feet no matter wtf you were. And the enemy A.I. really felt like they were ALL shooting at you. As in, their focus was mostly on you the player as apposed to the rest of your team.

It just got less and less fun to play the sp as the hardness level was raised. To me, it just got really cheap feeling as far as how they balanced the next 2 hardness levels = Hardened, and Vet. Too bad, cause I thought Normal was brilliant balancewise. Aaaah well.

Co op mode allowing at least 3 player co op, and larger in the field sniper maps`d have been a cool addition. I hate total urban fodder.

Hey guy, you obviously can explain why I, or anyone else for that matter, would want to buy this game.

Can you please explain what you mean by
Bandolier + Stopping Power + Steady Aim + P90 + 10+ years of FPS MP experience = Winning the map 30-2 KDR and second place is 13-6.

Are these loadouts that you set up? or just adjectives that you're using to say that you have a good time?

ANyway, I'd like to know why I should buy this game. Graphics & Sound must be outrageously cool. But what is it that breaks the mold here? Can you quantify this experience or are you just hyper because its new to you and you're having fun?

The MP is amazing... I feel like I never tire of it.

I'm like level 47 or something and I still haven't played all the MP modes.

The perk loadout dynamic is really my favorite part. I have classes designed for specific game modes, specific tactics, etc.

Can't get enough of this. Easily a tie with TF2 for the most polished MP experience I've experienced. Just like TF2 I can't find a significant complaint to make about the game.

Bandolier + Stopping Power + Steady Aim + P90 + 10+ years of FPS MP experience = Winning the map 30-2 KDR and second place is 13-6.

Yeah I'll probably stir up a lot of hate on those perk and weapon choices but just like the AWP in Counter-Strike I'm looking for the most kills in the least time. And yes, in FFA the objective is to be a frag whore. That's me.

Zephalephelah, i'm with Morgan19 - does every game have to have something new to be enjoyable? To put variety into perspective, I think all movies and TV shows are variations on about seven different story types.

Sure, many of the greatest games broke new ground. After a while most or all of the 'new ground' will have been broken so does that mean nothing fun is possible? I think not.

Perpetual debt is slavery.

...What's unique? ...What's different? How is this any different than any other game? ...What's DIFFERENT? What's so special? What's so unique that some guy says that this game will be on his harddrive way after everything else fades? What's so compelling that some guy says "best game in years"? ...BUT WHAT IS SO DIFFERENT? ...What's DIFFERENT????

Simple: the experience.

I felt like an actual soldier playing through the SP game, and I feel like an actual soldier playing MP. Contrary to what you seem to think, a game doesn't have to introduce some radical new idea or have totally new weapon ideas to be good. It's one of the best gaming experiences I've had the joy of taking part in, plain and simple.

Doesn't seem to be very much interest at all to me.

Funny.

Everyone defends this game based on the Multi-Player experience alone. So obviously, my impressions about the demo are spot on about Single-Player and that part of the game just sucks big time!

But even when people express their enjoyment of Multi-Player, they really don't say anything specific about it. How is it better than Day of Dafeet, or TF2, or Tribes1-2, or all the other games?

Or is it that it really isn't better; it just has nice graphics and sound. Hard to say when all people are saying is basically I'm hooked Dude, big time, this is like the best man, seriously awesome homey.

That doesn't mean anything. What's unique? What's different? How is this any different than any other game? Are the weapons different in some special way? I heard that they're too much alike frankly and they seemed like that in the demo as well. Are the maps not little rat mazes, but now they're slightly bigger rat mazes? What's DIFFERENT? What's so special? What's so unique that some guy says that this game will be on his harddrive way after everything else fades? What's so compelling that some guy says "best game in years"? Is it just the graphics & sounds? I can agree with that. I could even acknowledge that immersive quality in a game is fairly important. BUT WHAT IS SO DIFFERENT?

I'm willing to bet, absolutely nothing. It probably just feels like war to you because of the sounds. You're sucked in and it makes you jump sometimes. Yawn. That's not different, it's just better sound. What's DIFFERENT????

Just wanted to echo what some of the others are saying about the CoD4 multiplayer experience. For me, it's probably the one of the best mp games I've played in a real long while.

IMO UT3 is a huge disappointment, especially considering the game still has all the same bugs the demo had. UT3 just feels really unfinished, and when the volume label on the on the DVD says UT3_RC7, it just screams rushed out the door.

Say what you will about single player but the multiplayer hits the spot. I'll be playing this way after TF2,QW and UT3 fall off the end of my hard drive.

Really enjoyed Call of Duty 4, the linearity should be a non issue, after all it's been a 'feature' of all the previous games.

Excellent high quality arcadey fps fun.

Thought the sniper level was great, reminded me of Stalker quite a bit and of course the level where you're the gunner on the AC130. Both very immersive levels.

One thing that did dissapoint me was the lack of any signiifcant differences between the various automatic rifles and machine guns.

The graphics in UT3 look better than Gears of war PC. Demo had bad graphics but the final product with highrez textures looks better than most games.

Then again tast is subjective..some might prefer the realistic look to the cartoony look of UT.

I think Crysis is the best looking game out there then I put CoD4 & UT3 in second place then Gears of War PC and the rest.. this list is based on title I own there are probably better looking games out there.

Then UT3 came out yesterday (in stores) and IMO it's just as good as CoD4 and Crysis but is more innovative. UT3 - wow!

crysis multiplayer is having an identity crisis (pun pun). the nano-suit gameplay does not work with a team based map mode. and UT3 is wow? the game is very similar to UT2004. the graphics did not match the screenshot previews they have been showing.

RabidRabbit

I you are right about multiplayer. The single player issues listed do exist but they are not as bad as in previous CoD games.

THe issues lsited where so bad in the previous versions especially the first one that I never even finished the fist part of the demo.

When playing CoD 4 I kept in mind that it's a heavily scripted game. I did get annoyed at the infinit respawn if you did not reach point A. It was more about surviving a certian amount of time taking out a certian amout of enemies then getting tothe right spot for the game to move on...not always fun but all in all it was a very good game.
not Great but the multiplayer is great!
