bigspender, you can't possible have played many games over the last few years considering the number of things that stop you from buying certain games according to your sig?

bigspender have you actually been over to Epic's forums to see all the issues with Gears of War PC?
Tried the drivers, but getting some artifacts in the singleplayer demo. Namely textures (like the warning flare fired off by baddies) is square along with some other issues.

Well, 169.04 (Vista x64) gave me bluescreens on the desktop so I hope these are better. I've installed them and they seem to be working fine so far... only time will tell.

I just played about a two hours of CoD4 with this driver with no problems, so it might be another issue bigspender. Although the previous driver .04 did wreck my computer hard, so I suppose your mileage may vary.

Did anyone use drivers 169.03 while playing COD4? On some levels I would get horrible graphic tearing....
With all of these beta driver releases, i wish they would just release a set that works.

The specialized driver set I used was for Timeshift. It repeatedly crashed the game necessitating a roll-back.

I'll be checking these out tomorrow. Performance was good on my rig but not as smooth as it should've been. I did wonder if the game was actually using SLi.

Not sure if this is 100% true but here is what I found online.
v169.09:
Adds SLI support for Crysis Fixes a water reflection bug in Crysis Adds Control Panel anisotropic filtering support for Crysis
With this driver, SLI will deliver 40-50% speedup over single a GPU. In addition, a game patch coming this month will improve SLI performance further.
Here are some reference performance numbers obtained using the built-in benchmark:
Crysis Benchmark Runs Single SLI Scaling GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
1600x1200 High Settings 24.05 34.76 45% GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB
1920x1200 High Settings 22.7 31.87 40%
Again take this with a grain of salt some guy posted this in another forum. I won't put the link ...I'm not here to advertise for the competition cause Blues Rules!
OOps I should at least spell blues in English not French.

Does this NVIDIA beta drivers help the single player demo and multiplayer test? I already have the last beta driver release for my GeForce 7950 GT KO. I only get about 10 FPS with almost everything high (volumetric at low) in XP Pro. SP2. |
