Hi everyone,
We have some news to announce.
First, I am sorry for the bad news - the Crysis single player demo will now be available everywhere on October 26th, 2007.
We are taking some extra time to make sure you that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November the 16th, we had to make this call.
Now the good news - the big surprise. The SP demo will be released with our CryEngine 2 - Sandbox 2 game editor, giving the community the opportunity to get familiar with the vast amount of tools they will have at their disposal four weeks before we ship, something we have always wanted to do.
This is an exciting time for us at the studio as the development of Crysis comes to an end and we are only a few weeks from Gold Master. We appreciate your patience and are looking forward to getting Crysis into your hands on November 16th.
Read about the unprecedented event on Alcatraz island in San Francisco, where ATI announced the new RADEON 9xxx XT product family based on R360 graphics chip.
As a way to introduce to the world its Radeon 9600 XT and Radeon 9800 XT ATI picked the cold, God-forsaken place of Alcatraz Island
While a delay of a month isn't that bad they could of given us a bit more warning. It's not like they decided yesterday that the demo wasn't going to work, they have known for a while.Indeed. I had a similar thing with Vista drivers for my audio card... they promised beta drivers months in advance and then a day or so before the expected release they announced that they'd be several months off. At least with Unreal Tournament 3 they have given us a hint that the game may blow over to next year - it's bad news but at least it's not a week before launch.

Well, except for that one twat who whines and complains about everything and trolls people into personal arguments because he has nothing better to do (which by the way was also indicated in this thread).I had a look through this topic and couldn't see who you were referring to. Was that directed at me? If it was then you a seriously off base. I understand that delays happen and commented that if the multiplayer beta is ready then they should open that up so make up for the loss of the singleplayer demo.
Actually from the preliminary system requirements, the above machine should be able to run the game ok.Yeah, I've read that it should run acceptably / well. It seems that Crysis is quite flexible as it supports SM2.0, which Bioshock didn't manage.
#21 is exactly correct. What are you two referring to? What you're saying are not revelations, and I don't see a lot of complaining happening here. On the contrary, posters seem fine with the delay.
Everyone needs to relax about crysis. That's because those videos and those screenshots you see are not what you will be looking at when you play on your rigs unless you have the latest and greatest in hardware.I have Vista x64, a DX10 graphics card (8800GTS overclocked) and a widescreen display... I am very much expecting what I've seen in the videos. Heck, most of the videos have been DX9 so I'm expecting more. I am very interested to see how it will perform.
Yeah and no game company has ever delayed one of their products before right? Maximum FAIL.I don't give a shit what other companies do... I complained more when Valve delayed Ep2/TF2, etc. However, CRYTEK failed to deliver here. I'm not saying the game is going to suck or insulting their families but I'm saying they made a mistake / bad judgement and it isn't very professional, along with the whole debate about DX9/DX10 servers.
However, Crytek announced they would be doing a demo for Sep 25th and they have failed to deliver.
