Ship combat takes way more tactics and strategy to win an even ship battle than any even fight in any other MMORPG, although that isn't saying much.

Anyone who liked Pirates! and enjoys MMORPGs should give this game a try anyway.

Arrrre you KIDDING ME!?

Sad to say this game does not muster up even after all this time. Besides grinding out horrid cookie cutter missions and running around mazes disguised as islands there is nothing to do. I think I got to level 15 as a naval officer and just threw up my hands saying "why am I playing this!?".

The ship combat is very simple and the sword fighting/avatar control seems tacked on and useless.

The very beginning of the game, the tutorial is actually pretty good, but then once you settle into playing the game it's god awful boring. Whoever designed the tutorial should have been in charge of the whole production because the end result is tragic.

And is there no way to make those big pink numbers go away when you shoot enemy ships, can't tell you how cool it looks to see bright pastel numbers telling me how much damage I do. No immersion in this game at all for me.

Watch Code Monkeys. It's really f-n good.

How funny they released this on talk like a pirate day. It's great to see a new MMO thats not filled with goblins & mages. Although last I heard this game was not shipping till Q1 2008??
