to sample Kvazar Studio's imminent space combat game. The demo is a 481 MB
download, which is available on

yep exactly the same, on 2 completely different PCs. Looks like they just lost 2 more customers..

You can use a joystick although the mouse is just as easy to control with a good mouse.I'll have to give it a try then. It's interesting that you mentioned mouse support and X3 in the same post, because X3 had decent mouse support too. It was usually better to play with the joystick, but the mouse came in handy, especially for non-combat-oriented sessions.
This demo does not appear to have Starforce installed as Starforce did not appear in Device Manager after installing the demo.
I really liked the demo, it reminded me of a far less hokey X3 and I'll be playing it a lot more on my machine at home.

actually gamespot printed a retraction saying you could use a joystick.
Isn't this a russian publisher? That probably means starforce in demo.

Hmm. Worked fine for me, and it seems to be a pretty cool space sim. Graphics are nice, combat is fast, and there's quite a bit of ship customization to it.
Why am I not surprised? I've come to expect such blunders from games developed or published by Akella.
