first, let me say this. you DO NOT NEED TO USE THE INTERNET EVERY TIME YOU PLAY THIS GAME. it is only the first time.
second, you can uninstall and reinstall this game, and if, by chance, you have 2 computers you want to simultaneously play this game on, you also can do that.
if by some chance you are reinstalling this game without uninstalling it first, a lot, there is a chance you may have to call securom and get a key, or deactivate some older installations.
but if you upgrade your hardware next week, you'll still be able to play the game. if you revamp your system and need to reinstall bioshock, just uninstall it before you go through the overhaul, and then do your reinstall.
calling it "hardware fingerprinting" is a bit alarmist. we do not transmit any of your data to any companies.
really, the only people who will be concerned about any of these security measures are those who are rapidly putting bioshock on many pcs... if you use the game as you normally do, you won't notice this at all.
Do people really reinstall OS's???? I guess if a new one comes out & you want that, like Vista. But I don't want Vista yet. Do people really reinstall OS's???? That takes like, all fuckin day!!!!! Acronis makes reinstallation about as difficult as making dinner.
You'd think that, but you'd be wrong. Securom is fully intact, complete with the 2 installation limit. It's been posted already by a Steam Staffer.Weird. I can understand the 2 installation limit, but other than that, what is Securom actually doing in the Steam version? It's not like it can validate the game disc.
3. I'm waiting for the detailed instructions on how you can go back and deactivate the older installation via uninstall once you've already reinstalled over it, or after formatting.
it will have all the drivers installed. You can also try slipstreaming (that way you get all the drivers along with the drive wipe). I have never been able to get a working slipstreamed Windows disc, but other people seem to have success with it. Your mileage may vary, but it might be worth trying, especially since it's free.
That's a pretty fucking stupid. Raise your hand if you uninstall all of your software before doing a OS reinstall.....oh that's right no one does.

Do people really reinstall OS's????I've heard good things about Acronis, but never used it. People like me that don't care about our data enough to back it up just usually reinstall from scratch each time.
