I love Factions - it's gets slightly dull in the middle (and has some pretty appalling voice acting) but then picks up again. I own all three but it's Factions that I'm playing the most at the moment. Prophecies is great but quite slow in comparison to the other two. Nightfall is probably the best overall, largely due to the addition of Heroes, a compelling storyline and two great new classes (Dervish and Paragon).

They're all very different games. One great thing is if you own Nightfall you can transfer Heroes from there into the other chapters. The stories don't have to be played in any order so you don't miss anything by starting with Nightfall.
