This is why we like bots - so we don't have to put up w/ 1337 kiddies online...

And I have no doubt the moment that beta went live the kids were trying to write hacks for it...

Yes, but this brings me back to my point, that you guys suck!

I sure do revel in the fact that when I am not cheating I can still get the upper hand on most of those idiots who are cheating, be it aim-bots or wall-hacks.

That is why I love SD, and their Wolf:ET and this game, as pure skill is not all you need, you also need strargey and intelligence. Most people that hack have neither, and as a result most of the time I can get the upper hand.

Is is so damn sweet. It is even more sweet when they get so pissed off and say they know I must be cheating because they are. It is wonderful. It also makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I do it in ET:QW, seeing is how I get horrible FPS.

Ignoring that completely, I'm wondering what games ARE on Hump's list if a couple of kiddie aimbotters is enough for him to quit the game?

Not much, I'd gather.

Welp, so much for that game. Just played a round where two little kiddies were aim-botting and respawning wherever they chose with impunity.

Cross another one off my list.

Thats why it's called a beta test. So problems like that can be spotted and dealt with before it's released.

Sheesh, you'd think when most people heard the word Beta, they heard instead 'Free game to play, but if it's not content complete or bug free, it's clearly crap.'

Let me paraphrase Hump.

Whaa Whaa Whaa the BETA of the game is not perfect and people were maybe cheating!

Heh
I say maybe, because there is no guarantee they were aim-botting, and the strogg can setup spawn host to spawn at various places on the map where a dead GDC body is.

So, does Hump just suck and not know how to play the game or were they cheating?

Either way, it is a freakin' beta man! Chillax.

Also, you do not have to play with people you think are cheating, or are just a lot better then you, change serves.

Tard!

That was not an Interview, or Q&A with Steve Nix. He had one quote from Steve Nix, the rest was just either paraphrasing or making up.

I more anxious to see what other developers do with tech5. Not all that excited about what Id is doing with it.

The more I hear about Tech5 the more impressed I get with it. While other modern engines may have a slight graphical edge (though I doubt Id has shown off all the bells and whistles in their first time showing the game, and IMHO those other engines rely on gimmicks a lot,) the technology behind Tech5 is a generational leap over anything else out there, and that is typical of Id Software.

I cannot WAIT to see what Id does with the tech. Rage I'm sure will be a blast to play, though perhaps not as deep as other modern FPS. But the other games that are sure to take advantage of this tech. Open RPG's like Oblivion, MMORPG's will be able to make the most varied and crisp areas ever seen in an online persistent game. It's just amazing, I cannot wait.

But I think if there was ever a time, in the next few years as this technology evolves and games start coming out, it might finally be time to invest in a 1/2 terabyte hard-drive lol.
