Out of the Blue

Well, my access to the internet seems to be back in order, and I imagine that some repair people burned some midnight oil, which is appreciated. I wish I could say I appreciate Verizon's phone support as well, but being outsourced to someone who speaks English just well enough to be able to read the script in front of them, but unable to really converse is a little frustrating. At one point during a pause I asked her: "Are you aware I keep asking questions, but you don't respond?" Her silence was the perfect confirmation of the point. Her supervisor was more knowledgeable, which gave him just enough insight to completely misdiagnose my problem, claiming that because he saw a strong connection on my end, I must need "new drivers for my router" (yes, that's really what he said). I give him credit for following-up, however, as he actually called this morning to inform me that the problem was on Verizon's end, something I had long ago concluded. Humorously, he said the problem was persisting, and he would call me when its fixed, so when there was a problem on their end, he insisted there wasn't one, and now we have the reverse.

Meanwhile, the steam pipe explosion in Manhattan yesterday made MrsBlue's commute home a several hour nightmare, and we had a fireworks show that freaked out my poor Hudson the wonder dog. So, basically the only resident of the BlueTower who didn't have a rough day yesterday was the Gunnar-man, but every day is a good day for Gunnar.

Yeah, but I have never read "Thank you Shane for mopping the floors and cleaning the beakers for this experiment".

Really wouldn't make sense you know?

...And for doing virtually everything in the lab and devising the outline for the labwork, and making the experiment actually work.

But ya know, whatever.

Enahs, be ready for some heartache with vista. it's caused me hours of turmoil. knock on wood, i've not had probelms for the last two months.

Do not worry. I am!

It would have cost an extra $80 to get XP instead! F'ing microsoft having convincing these companies to do Vista on every damn thing.

I might end up installing XP anyway. So far everything is doing just fine. It seems as nothing more then a huge graphical performance hit!

ugh, when i got my Dell last february with Vista, i spent hours on the phone with them and MS talking to their "professionals" or the ones you mention above. they dont have a fucking clue. i'd have paid for them to have a clue, but it wasn't happening. ultimately, all the fixes and help i got were online communities with ppl who were having the same problems.

that reminds me...i've not updated my router drivers in some time now...

Or is there compatibility issues running 32bit apps on 64bit Vista?

I wouldn't use 64-bit Vista if you plan to play games (the performance boost isn't there and is only useful for the additional RAM space support). You're also lucky there are 64-bit drivers for all your hardware, because there is a ton of devices that still aren't supported.

HEHEHEE! Yeah, it's so twisted

Control is surprisingly deep, too -- there are all sorts of weird attacks you can pull off with different combinations of button-mashes.. sometimes he pulls out a knife and just goes to town on those kids, but for the life of me, I just can't figure out exactly how to do it.. the best is the juggling though

So I am now using Windows Vista for the first real time (came with the new laptop).

Why in the F if this is a 64bit CPU do they install the 32bit version of Vista? Everything in this computer has 64bit drivers. Freakin Tards I tell ya!

Or is there compatibility issues running 32bit apps on 64bit Vista? Any degradation in performance?

Letters from a Christian extremist last week threatened the lives of evolution biology professors at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Call a fucking spade a spade here. Xtian Extremist = Terrorist. Jewish Extremist = Terrorist. The only people they don't have a problem calling terrorists are Muslim Extremists. Funny that.

Who would Jesus send a death threat to?

Super Double Dragon was a pretty god damn fancy-shmancy take on the beat-em-up.

I remember jumping on a Double Dragon game with a line of people behind me (everyone would get to play 1 quarter no continues) - it was the coolest game in the arcade - and I could start the game and end up playing with 10-15 different people.

Play all the way through without dyin'! hahahahaha Good times. I always loved how the screen would chop and slow down when you get near the end and the guys have the machine guns. When they fire it was slow mo stop screen action. hehehehe

/edit: Picked up River City Ransom EX for the DS (er GBA cart). Anyone that doesn't have it should do so - it is hella fun.
