If anything, I find the fact that there are bigger and farther objects in our solar system FAR more exciting than the "demotion" of Pluto. If only I had a telescope big enough to observe them

Astronomy is the one thing I really, really wanted to get into. I even took a course in college about it, which was hard to get since it fills up incredibly fast. But a friend convinced me to switch to a Comp Sci course that went from interesting to tedious in 2 weeks. He apologized as soon as we realized I'd made a huge mistake, and it was my last semester so I missed that chance.

Unfortunately I live in North Jersey, so light pollution is a problem.

But it still fascinates me to no end.

Well, lately he is a complete intolerant ass to everyone....I don't have time for that.

I am sure he will attack me for posting a coupon and go on some diatribe about how wrong it is for me to do so citing his own neanderthal views on the bible, religion, politics, gun control, game development cycles, etc and find a way to say how he and Fred are buddies and how wrong we are for hating on him. So this way, I no longer need to waste my life reading his diarrhea of the fingers.

Heh, he must have moved in with Zeph.
He had 5-6 posts directed at me saying the same thing....obsessed I guess.

Just another tard to add to the filter and less to read.

Um, it has to do with astronomy, a branch of science. It's the BBC, they're not going to give you full technical details and mathematics of the subject.

What I mean to say is that by tht title of the article, and some of the wording in it, especially the first few paragraphs, is more of a sensationalized "oh my god Pluto suffered anoter blow" than just stating the facts (and the facts stated are not really new). No I don't expect it to read as a science journal, but they can stop with all this "aw, poor Pluto" crap. NOTHING has changed. Pluto is the same now as it was 80 years ago. It still orbits the sun, its still rather facinating to see in a telescope (not that it appears as much more than a starlike object, but knowing what you're looking at is fascinating.) You can still easily find Pluto data in Sky & Telescope, Heavens Above, and many other places that give information on observing the planets.

If anything, I find the fact that there are bigger and farther objects in our solar system FAR more exciting than the "demotion" of Pluto. If only I had a telescope big enough to observe them

Well, they'd be hardpressed if it's not ironed it out. In any case, I'm sure if they all just let some steam off they could clean this all up in about an hour or so.

That story is not exactly "news" (its been known for about 2 years) and the presentation of the article hardly qualifies as being science.
