Last Sopranos tonight! The series has had its ups and downs over the years, so I
have mixed feelings about its conclusion. I still don't know how they're going
to manage to create a sense of closure in one more show… and yes, I am going
to be pissed if they never explain what happened to the Russian in the woods
(and I think it goes without saying they are not going to get to that).

Chase has said in past interviews that that story line is closed. Granted he can always change his mind, but still...
I always figured he died in the woods somewhere and his body has never been found.
And baring any surprises tonight (and I expect a few...DOZEN) I wouldn't rule out a HBO movie or two in 5 years or so. I know they ACT like this is the end, but by 5 years from now, I'd except the remaining cast members to welcome what would be a nice big paycheck for a one or two shot deal.
Who knows, though...

Well this season started out really bad but picked up steam rather quickly,i still think they need at least 2 more episodes or a 2 hour finale to cap it off..Their is too much to explain and to much left to do it justice in 1 hour..shame really..Oh well let's hope it is better then we expect!

Honestly, I don't see how they can really do much to close the show that would be surprising. I mean, Tony only has a few of different ways he can go.
Man, they should make that weapon in a video game.

I finally caught up (6 episodes this weekend), watching "The Blue Comet" moments ago. The piano bits of music reminded me a bit of Nino Rota. Should be slick - I gotta say, I'll miss this show. So many funny lines and slick visuals; the writing and directing has almost always been rock solid.
With this last one, I guess Chase directed from his own script, closed set. So you know it could be epic or surreal - and possibly both.

Eh, I don't know about that. I thought it was pretty heavily implied that the guy in the trucker hat comes out of the bathroom and kills all four of them.

edit: After the first few minutes of disappointment, the more I think about it, the more I like it.
edit again: SST: Think about it: at the end of every other season, everyone wants to know if the next season is the last. This way, he can say he's done, with a "*" at the end, meaning that if he wants to revisit it at some undetermined point in the future, he can.
And I'm betting he will.

Almost certainly. He gets up to go the bathroom once he sees Meadow start trying to parallel park. Presumably there is a gun stashed in the bathroom. Given that it ends with Meadow walking in and the whole family being together in the same room I think the conclusion we're supposed to draw is that two seconds later the guy comes out of the bathroom and kills all of them.
I don't know what to think....THAT episode SUCKED!....it was like it was directed by an epileptic with A.D.D....(I did cheer when Phil got whacked though!, unless it was all a "dream"...)

Well, whatever happens you all will have to let me know in 5 years.. Mainly because, I absolutely hate how they ended the one show on television that I watch. I'm seriously considering cancelling my HBO subscription at this point. Honestly, Sopranos was the only reason I insisted we have it anyway... Now that's it over, I really don't care anymore either way.

I know y'all are talking about the sopranos.. but I have to comment on the G-bomb thing.. that is possibly the funniest thing I've heard for several years.. I mean. Had it been the 50's I would have, somewhat, understodd. But 1994.. I realize that some of the more important studies hadn't come out yet but still.. 1994..
