Clearly these are either entrances to:
A) a Krell outpost
or
B) a Morloch cavern

How weird would it be to find million year old graffitti carved on the walls of one of these caves, or maybe bit marks from some gigantic drilling machine.

Ah, I see. I'll give it another whirl then, probably in a day or so. Right now I'm busy picking through my computer boneyard to figure out what works and what doesn't....and just throwing out some really old crap.

It was cool to get my old Pentium II 266 with a VooDoo 3 running again, considering the guts were laid out on a table, cables spliced together and a power button that would have made Macgyver proud.

Here's a guide to hopefully fix your game and stop that from happening again in source forts.

http://www.sourcefortsmod.com/boards/showthread.php?t=6486

Certain server ops are getting in some lame war and they're using the innocent people who connect to their servers to rage against other servers by changing their configs around to make leaving impossible and redirecting them to different servers... Just avoid servers with bots which are what apparently allow this to happen. Pretty ridiculous and it pissed me off more than you can imagine on this rainy Memorial Day weekend.

Bucky and anyone else who downloaded Source Forts today... My recommendation couldn't have come at a shittier time. Some ridiculous group decided to put scripts on their servers that rebound all your controls and changed your name to a variation of HOUSE and then transfered you to a server where you couldn't leave by typing quit in console, hitting escape or anything but killing the hl2.exe process.

So sorry to all that some jackasses had to ruin the game on the day I recommend it. Please don't think badly of the game because of yesterday.

Make sure to restrict server commands by using cl_restrict_server_commands 2 or a something like that. And also set your .cfg to read only.

Really sorry but I hope you can all still find out what an awesome game this is.

What is it w/ the shitty movies this summer? First Spidey, and now Pirates...
Heh did you expect anything else from the Pirates team? The first movie was 60% fun, 40% dumb. The Second was 25% fun, 50% dumb, 25% awful.

But chin up, there's still:
Ocean's 13 (which is apparently the best of the three)
Shrek 3 (I won't bother with this one, but for the kids...)
Harry Potter (guilty pleasure, enhanced boobs and all :))
Transformers
The Simpsons (maybe pirate that one)
Bourne Ultimatum
A Mighty Heart (had excellent reviews in Cannes)

Admittedly, there's no Apocalypse Now or Pulp Fiction in there, but enough to keep me entertained!

The Prestige.

That was a fine movie all around. Just about a total all-star cast that actually worked well with one another too.

The captain of a pirate ship was often a fierce fighter in whom the men could place their trust, rather than a more traditional authority figure sanctioned by an elite. However, when not in battle, the ship's quartermaster usually had the real authority.

Heh, he who holds the key to the sword locker (later firearms) is probably the highest paid crewman on the ship, aside from the officers.

Guess I'll just keep holding my breath for the new Die Hard and Transformers.

I'm still in awe that a movie was made about Transformers at all. I mean, Dreamworks is attempting to make this thing with a certain amount of seriousness.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the new Die Hard, The Bourne Ultimatum (yes, I liked the film style of the first movies), and even though it's a long way off, Rambo.

yeah, has it gotten better since release? I though it was lacking some fundamental programming.

It still is. I couldn't even quit the game, I had to ctrl+alt+del my way out. I'll try it again....after a few more updates.

The Prestige. Bought it today and have to say I was really surprised how good the movie was. I HIGHLY suggest adding this movie to your collection.

As for Spidey I thought it was good. With an exception to the 'evil Parker' dance moves, and the thing with Gwen, I thought the movie was good.

*shrugs*

They're bound to change allegiances and backstab all the time and there's plenty of that going on in the movie.

Popular misconception.

Unlike traditional Western societies of the time, many pirate clans operated as limited democracies, demanding the right to elect and replace their leaders. The captain of a pirate ship was often a fierce fighter in whom the men could place their trust, rather than a more traditional authority figure sanctioned by an elite. However, when not in battle, the ship's quartermaster usually had the real authority. Many groups of pirates shared in whatever they seized; pirates injured in battle might be afforded special compensation. Often all of these terms were agreed upon and written down by the pirates, but these articles could also be used as incriminating proof that they were outlaws. Pirates readily accepted outcasts from traditional societies, perhaps easily recognizing kindred spirits, and they were known to welcome them into the pirate fold.

Pirates 2 did absolutely nothing to advance anything construed as plot, being comprised almost entirely of mindlessly regretable action sequences and horrible self-referential jokes. As such, I've little to no desire to see the third picture, and the 48% on Rotten Tomatoes isn't about to change my mind. Quite a shame, Curse of the Black Pearl was so very unexpectedly fun. Guess I'll just keep holding my breath for the new Die Hard and Transformers.

Spiderman 3 was a huge letdown but I loved Pirates 3. I don't understand what everyone's problem is with Pirates 3. They claim there are just too many plot twists and story elements but the reason it's like that is because they're pirates for god sakes. They're bound to change allegiances and backstab all the time and there's plenty of that going on in the movie. Also I really recommend you watch Pirates 2 before going to see Pirates 3 because there isn't much of an exposition they dive right back in to the storyline where it left off.

Agreed on Spidey 3 - it was just... bad. And not bad in a "so bad it's good" way, really.

I saw Pirates 3 with roommates and several friends, and I must say I enjoyed it. It's not absolutely fantastic, but it managed along, with only a few parts I thought were slow. I have to agree with Sepharo in that watching the prior film is a must if you want to follow along with what happens right from the start of this film.

It is also highly recommended that you stay until after the credits - my roommates and their respective GFs left the theatre once the credits started rolling. Oh well.

POTC3ST: Though I didn't quite understand the nature of the multiple Sparrows, I thought the scenes where he interacts with himself were some of the best. Also loved Barbossa - a great character, just proves how awesome Geoffery Rush is. .. oh yes, I didn't expect entirely that Will Turner would become captain of the Flying Dutchman... still, great sequel setup, methinks.

I need some new multiplayer goodness, so I'm downloading it now. Wait, all done. Having just gone 85-18 in HL2DM I need something new, at least until ET:QW and TF2.

Alright, installed. My handle is Spire, so go easy on me if ya see me.
