You can sugarcoat DX2 all you want, but it was bland. Even as a stand-alone game, it would have sucked.
Sorry, I'm not sure what you're saying there. As a sequel to the original Deus Ex, it was merely a bland game, but as a true stand alone it would've sucked. So you actually prefer it to be a true sequel?
Besides, nobody here is really sugarcoating the game - I think we all agree it wasn't the proper sequel to Deus Ex, but that it wasn't nearly as bad as portrayed.
I still suspect that had it not been set against the backdrop of its predecessor, it would've faired better opinion.
Not exactly sure how'd it work with the 3 endings.
They could've easily just picked one of the original endings and worked with it instead of combining all three in DX.
