I liked NFS: Most Wanted quite a bit, actually.

Seconded. Well, no. I really got hooked on NFS with NFS3 PSX. The pursuits were so fun. Good times. I've never really cared about realism, though I don't like absolutely arcadey racing games that require no skill at all. Moderation is the key to success. In this regard, Porsche Unleashed was excellent, though the lack of speed was pretty bad. Car variety was also obviously lacking.

TDU just doesn't do anything for me. The environments are dull, the physics/handling feel awkward and it just isn't fun. It's a shame. I really hope the next NFS returns to its roots and offers the gameplay and track design of PU along with the sense of speed and overall intensity of Most Wanted. And no more tracks haphazardly carved out of one big environment. I want individual, unique (and pretty) tracks, damnit!

I thought this game brought back some of the enjoyment I had playing Test Drive 3 in the 1990's.

Force feedback was functional but not excellent.

Of course, as had been said, GTR/GT Legends/GTR2 win hands down for driving enjoyment.

Test Drive III is my all-time favorite racing sim. It was so great because it was fully open; you could drive anywhere. If "Unlimited" is anything like that (and, from reports, it is), then I'll be delighted. Of course, it can't be dumbed down in handling, presentation or anything else, so I'm crossing my fingers that the bad reports aren't as bad as they sound. The open idea of this game has *so* much potential. It'd be a real shame if they screwed it up.

ah, Porsche Unleashed, the last good NFS game.

PU was the first driving game I had playing with a FF wheel. Very, very fun

Chalk up another fan. This is my favorite non-sim driving game since Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed. Sim-wise GT Legends and GTR are still highly superior, but for simple freeform driving fun this game is awesome.

It received a 82% from http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/932277.asp?q=Test%20Drive%20Unlimited
A low average score IMHO. But it sounds interesting. I'd give it a try if they had a playable online demo.

my joystick works just fine, Im happy with the title and the game to me at least is not boring, at least if you use your map you can enter into a race at will, might be kinda boring riding around looking for stuff to do but thats not how your supposed to play. look go to the map select a race and race, lol what you expect in a race game?

Graphics are ok and the control is quite good, I also am a avid fan of GTR 2 but i hated the last need for speed, which i think this is better.

Rummble is working fine as i said, its not the best rumble but its there, I do like how in certian missions like delivery you have to drive perfect to achieve better results.

I love this game and i recomend it but im having troubles online, i hope they iron this aspect out.

Yeah, I think Test Drive and Grand Prix Circuit from Accolade were my two first driving games. I remember having big problems with filling gas.

Good times...

I was in the PC beta for this and its similar to every other Test Drive game I ever played, boring as hell.

I have so many (great) memories of the first Test Drive, on my 12mhz system...

Think I had the 3rd one, too...

This is a fun game (PC Version), especially single player wise but if you're expecting to play online with friends thats a different matter. So many problems its untrue & its difficult to see other drivers, friends, club members in races & especially when out free riding the island.
As for Forcefeedback I've not used it myself but others say it just doesnt work at all.
Check their forums for all the complaints, so far no word on a patch for the PC version which will hopefully resolve a lot of the issues. Great game just don't expect to play online without massive problems

...but the rest of the game feels pretty half-assed. Especially the physics/handling. Driving simply isn't fun in this game.
