Savage 2 Delayed Again

RPG Vault's Savage 2: A Tortured Soul Update Q&A talks with S2 Games about their coming RTS/FPS sequel. Along the way, they reveal summer 2007 as the new release date for the game, which was originally expected in fall 2006 (story) before its release date was pushed to this month (story). Included is word that beta testing, once planned for last summer (story), should begin in a couple of weeks. The beta may open to all eventually, but at first will be restricted to the patient folks who preordered the game a year ago (story):
Savage 2 should be finished in the summer of 2007. Our initial launch date was winter of 2006. We needed more time for a couple of reasons. The first reason is because we're still a bit green as a studio and creating timelines that we can actually achieve is a bit difficult... as if we're the only ones, and this is just our second game. Secondly, we will not cut corners on this title. We have a vision for a game, and we won't stop until we've hit it.

The beta should begin in the coming weeks and is restricted to those who pre-ordered the game. We may open it up at the end, but have yet to make a decision.

The very definition of vaporware.

Please, I humbly submit to you that Duke Nukem 4ever and Team Fortress 2 should be listed as examples in Webster's. Savage 2 was demoed live at GDC.

Sure, I'm a little ticked at the delay since I'm one of the original pre-orderers in Mar '06. But vaporware is too strong a word.
