In games like Armed Assault etc, I prefer to play against the A.I. cause they always play incharacter.

Having players that play "in-character" be they AI or human, is the only saving grace in gaming for me. Glitchers bore me to tears.

I can't help but take these comments a tad personal. If bots ruined TFC(that's laughable), I guess that would make it my fault, as I was the primary developer of Foxbot for the last year or so of it's life. At the same time I guess I've been ruining Enemy Territory for the last couple years as well with my new bot http://www.omni-bot.com which will very soon expand its ruinage to Quake4(no worries there, no community to ruin).

Never mind that countless server administrators are praising bots as actually giving their server life, as in real human player life, by attracting players to them. I guess they are all liars. Having an empty server is so much better than having one with bots that pulls in real players. It's well known that people generally don't join empty servers, and a few bots do wonders in getting it started, with a bot leaving for each human that joins.

The idea that bots ruin communities is one often brought up by dipshits who have no concept of the lifetime of a game. TFC was at the end of it's life, and was existing just fine with bots for quite some time. If you want to blame anything for the decline of TFC, blame CS. I personally know that my TFC clan and several others I knew dissolved to CS. Further, CS has had more bots than any other FPS game ever. About 10 3rd party bots of varying quality and eventually official bots. Where's the ruinage there? Anti-bot zealots will make up anything to try to justify why bots are bad. It's really sad.

As a bot author I respect the anti-bot players desire not to play with bots, and I refuse to add requested features like fake bot pings or otherwise try to decieve players into thinking they are human. IMO a bots presence on a server should be clear.

I can understand the preference to play with humans, but to blanket an entire game or game type in your opinion that it shouldn't have bots at all is just stupid.

This actually USED to be the case. That was until peeps decided finding every glitch and hack in the book to beat other players at any cost became the norm.

In games like Armed Assault etc, I prefer to play against the A.I. cause they always play incharacter. In a straightforward Quaker, the gameplay is meant to be played like a wackoff session. But even so, you`ll always find legions of asshats who get wood not from just playing the game as intended, but glitching etc etc etc.

Sorry but I absolutely hate bots in multiplayer games servers. Here is why...

You open up the server browser. 100 servers with people playing on them. Maybe 10 people per server. You pick one, yeah all 10 people were bots. So you say bah i'll stay.

Someone else does the same thing but joins one of the other 99 servers and so on and so forth, thus theres actually say a good 40 people playing but they are scattered throughout 100 servers playing with bots instead of playing with others...

Its just simply STUPID. It ruined TFC IMO

I would be happy just to have the option to DISABLE the text box COMPLETELY, if they want to communicate, use an IM or TeamChat server or something built in, I dont want to participate with children screaming in a half pubic voice that Im a tard thank you very much, and the whiney American accents.

Most of the time I end up taking my headphones off and leaving the sound off.

The only clans ID Software should even consider are those from Red Orchestra. Those guys really communicate well. And they take it seriously.

They'll be like, "I'm taking fire in the trenches, I can see 2 guys up above them in the trees. I'm going to try to back out of here. I'll meet you at the trench entrance & we'll flank them on the high ground."

Instead of other games where teenagers whose balls just dropped are like, "OMG WTF, there's some fags up above the trenches, I need backup!"

If your refering to BF2, then I agree wholeheartedly........most annoying thing ever is commander saying "Infantry spotted" every 2 seconds

Bots are just a waste of server slots which could be filled by real players, if they must have bots I hope the server kills the bot if a real player wants to join.

Owning a real player is far more satisfying than AI and ever since T2 bots (wall humpers) I just dislike them, period.

I do hope the servers support a Queueing system for new players wanting to join, I am tired clicking refresh or juggling between 2 servers to get the player count refreshed in order to join one, and having the ping and player counts update frequently so we dont have to keep refreshing would be nice for the currently selected server.

I am mostly referring to internet play not LAN games, anyway, it is harder to predict people than it is AI.

That brings up another request, I want the ability to IGNORE text, voice binds and audio voice from specific players (tard spammers mostly), and vote spammers. Blocking delays are not good enough, I want total control over an ignore list for that game session.

I purchase MP games to play alone or (if I'm lanning) with other people against AI, not the least because bots don't chuck hissy fits when they're getting their asses kicked.

They're great for filling out the teams when you'd much rather just play with friends, rather than risking going up against the average cockheads you'll meet on an online server.

You're welcome to steer well away from bot-infested servers, but don't even try that "waste of developer resources" shit around here. There are far more people playing in games filled with bots than you could possibly imagine.

It might pay to actually read what he wrote again. He said a friend played and said it totally sucked, and that when he watched the vids he felt that the movement of the robots looks like a joke.

People have hyped this game up so much to themselves, that any negativity prior to it's release gets slammed. They just can't take it atall well, because time and time again what with having to deal with one shit game after another, it's all been about how QW will save the day. There's no slagging this game off - not without being flamed.

If you let yourself get caught up in the hype in this industry, you're fucked. The best games you've ever played are the ones that you didn't see coming. You know it, and I know it.

Second thing after that, I add to filter list, bot count = 0 for game servers.

I dont purcahse MP games to play AI, I purchase to play other sheeple.
