Battlefield: High Definition
is a modification for Battlefield 1942 that adds higher-definition graphics,
just as the name implies (thanks Ant and
Planet
Battlefield). In addition to graphical tweaks, the mod also adds a
third-person view, increases view distances, and increases the time that objects
like dead bodies and destroyed vehicles remain visible.

It's not native resolution though. It's screwy lookin when u do that

You can easily set your favorite widescreen resolution with a modification of your BF2 Shortcut, just add
"+widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050" to it.

I wish there was a widescreen patch for 2142 and BF2. Whenever I play a 4:3 game on my widescreen HDTV .. I feel sad

Sure Crysis looks GREAT but for online multiplayer games I reduce all that glitter to WIN.
I've never been able to do that myself. I can't stand shitty-looking games, even if it means I have to sacrifice some competitive edge. I'd rather compensate with skill than lack-of-prettiness.

Fog removal... whoopie. Absolutely nothing to be considered "High Definition". Same res textures, same poly count... fog moved way back.
They need to rename the mod from "High Definition" to "Fog Removal Hack".

Get your games from GOG DAMMIT!
In BF1942 there is no limit on the range of the sniper rifle, so if you removed the fog, you could snipe people on the other side of the map.

People remove fog on BF2 and other games anyway to get the upper hand.
Many times I have been sniped through fog. I always run with the minimum textures on the ground so I can see mines clearly, all eyecandy does is make your game harder.

All they did was reduce fog to increase viewable distance. Looks more like a cheat hack that a mod. Wish I could digg this down.
Yep, looks like they just got rid of the draw distance limits so you could see farther. It looks better but needs a lot more improvement to be worth going back to.
Will it work with other servers that aren't using the High Definition mod? Can I only connect to HD servers?
