Battlefield: High Definition is a modification for Battlefield 1942 that adds higher-definition graphics, just as the name implies (thanks Ant and Planet Battlefield). In addition to graphical tweaks, the mod also adds a third-person view, increases view distances, and increases the time that objects like dead bodies and destroyed vehicles remain visible.

All they did was reduce fog to increase viewable distance. Looks more like a cheat hack that a mod. Wish I could digg this down.

Yep, looks like they just got rid of the draw distance limits so you could see farther. It looks better but needs a lot more improvement to be worth going back to.
