How was I to know that we had a dishonest scout? Or an evildoer following her deliveries snatching cookies off doorsteps?
It was probably a clerical error. With all the lawsuits now, they probably have to get a written and signed document from their parental guardians for every box they sell!
And of course there is probably a girl scout accountant badge and a spread sheet badge now, so if they did not have a record of the transaction in duplicate in two different forms, there then would have been an investigations committee. The first task of the investigations committee will be to determine if there was actually an error. That process would have taken 3 months. Then it would have taken another 5 months for all the paper work and proper forms to be signed, initialized, notarized, and delivered, in order to send out the proper cookie order. Then UPS would have misplaced the order, and it would have taken another 5 months to figure that out.
So if you did not call, you could have expected your cookies in early March...of next year.
