It was probably a clerical error. With all the lawsuits now, they probably have to get a written and signed document from their parental guardians for every box they sell!

And of course there is probably a girl scout accountant badge and a spread sheet badge now, so if they did not have a record of the transaction in duplicate in two different forms, there then would have been an investigations committee. The first task of the investigations committee will be to determine if there was actually an error. That process would have taken 3 months. Then it would have taken another 5 months for all the paper work and proper forms to be signed, initialized, notarized, and delivered, in order to send out the proper cookie order. Then UPS would have misplaced the order, and it would have taken another 5 months to figure that out.

So if you did not call, you could have expected your cookies in early March...of next year.

They're Girl Scouts. For the most part, they are a rather trustworthy organization! I was a GS for 6-7 years, so I felt that I could trust 'em. How was I to know that we had a dishonest scout? Or an evildoer following her deliveries snatching cookies off doorsteps?

Yeah, no cookies. But Heather called the local HQ and they called back this morning -- they'll be delivering our cookies in the next few days. If the original scout ever shows up and delivers them, then they asked us to call them back to arrange compensation.

I laughed my butt off the other week (I think the last new episode before the hiatus) when Denny was on trial for his "questionable" startup business.

Our Dish unit recorded a couple shows for us, but was off by an hour, according to my wife. I'll have to look into it later, as I am preparing for a 4 day trip to the Denver area for a work-related conference. I fly out tomorrow and they have something planned for when we arrive. Seminars and classes 7 am to 11 pm Thurs and Fri. Half day Saturday, then I fly out for home. I doubt I'll leave the building the whole time I am there....
