" I was merely pointing out that if the ability to pirate was completely eliminated, game developers would not suddenly see a huge boon in sales."
I totally agree.
Not to mention, the devs are losing alot of money by either endlessly delaying games, and not releasing in a timely manner like we USED to see 5+ years ago. How many AAA FPS titles are released these days within the year??
2? 2 to 5? Can`t release the games, ain`t gonna make the dough. And now they wanna blame pirating for their woes? Well they better buckle up, cause it is gonna get worse prolly. Peeps are not gonna upgrade without the games. No games? No upgrades. No hardware sales. No game sales. An industry can`t survive on the trickle of releases we are seeing can they?
Hmmm I suppose episodic releases are gonna save them? Sounds like game dev is synonomous to Crack dealer mentality. I personally think the game devs created their own problems. Want less piacy? Release MORE demos. Wanna sell more games? How bout actually making and releasing MORE games? Now there is a thought.
It is NOT the buyers problem that the devs need more time to release games. A good idea too might be to not HYPE the fuxors out of certain games, and then release after 4 to 6 years.... the last 3 years being delay after delay etc.
I could be wrong, but the fix for some problems is not always to point the finger away at outside influences. Maybe the industry should look in their own backyard. Start there 1st.
