They are meaningless sophistry, and a rather childish rationalization for getting something for free that you know you should be paying for.
No need for me to answer any of your justifications because you know they are simply excuses.
In other words, neither of you can refute any of the points I made. Instead of making excuses, just concede that you can't and that your own sense of self-righteousness takes precedence over common sense and practicality.
However, I can easily counter your statements, so without further ado:
I pay for every PC game that I play past a demo. I carefully research before I purchase and then use a portion of my 6 figure salary to buy what I like.
1) What if a game doesn't have a demo? What if the demo sucks and doesn't represent the final game at all?
2) The best research you can do is actually playing the full, final game before buying it.
Those same asinine "points" could be used in just as pitiful an attempt to excuse sneaking into theatres to watch movies for free.
1) Watching movies in theatres is horribly overpriced. It costs $10 here. $10 for a 2-3 hour experience which you may or may not enjoy. Movie hopping makes the expenses more reasonable, as paying $10 to watch two movies is a much better deal.
2) How can you tell if a film is worth paying $10 to see once? You can just read reviews, right? I mean, if most reviewers rate a film positively, it is surely worth paying for! Wrong. "Zodiac" received an average score of 86% on rottentomatoes.com. That's a really good score considering the average score most films get on that site. However, I saw the film in theatres and it really dragged. I was constantly wondering when the film would end. Was that $10 well spent? No.
Owned. Next.
