"Terraformed" Mars

They are using the Mar's location in order to have alien artifacts, a huge generator, a mind reading muppet and a glass dome.

Would you prefer a WW2 setting on Earth? There just isn't enough war theme'd games around.

I dunno, setting this game on Mars is really not using Crytek's engine to it's fullest foliage potential. There won't be any destructible trees or anything because Mars is just a bloody rock.

It's not a MMORPG, it's a MMVW based on Mars. Virtual World on Mars=sounds like Second Life in Space.
That was my first thought as well. If so, I'll definitely be skipping this.

I agree mOOzilla with all the perty how will that engine perform with a lot of players. will it be shifty as hell or smooth like butta. Im betting its the former. And yes Tribes on that engine sounds cool, but as you know, any Tribes game not only requires an engine that can handle large immerssive maps, but smooth like butta netcode and gameplay. The new Torque engine TGEA is actually looking almost as good, and it can scale so much so that Nasa uses it to map mars for real.

I don't know about others, but I never really got the idea of MM games. It sounds insular (not to mention a bit sad) but I play games for the odd hour as a bit of escapism to get away from interacting with people. Meh, maybe I'll try and get into one one day.

Is this going to be a subscription game? Probably.

CryTek engines always had nice large scape maps and long visibility ranges with great lighting and environments.

How will it cope with a large volume of users and still retain this quality?

I hope they dont reduce or sparse out the map objects just to handle it.

UT3 engine has "streaming" map loading, will they add this to CryEngine to enable a large "world"?

Anyway, when is somebody going to make a Tribes2 clone/mod for this engine

There is a huge high quality DnD massive online game that is being developed, anybody remember the name of it?

Terraformed Mars means we get aliens artifacts etc? Can we start the reactor? 2 weeks... 2 weeks..
