Biz Buzz - EA & Pandemic/BioWare Changes

John Riccitiello returns to EA has word that Larry Probst has stepped down as CEO of Electronic Arts, and will be replaced by John Riccitiello, who has served in the past as president and COO of the publishing giant. Riccitiello left EA in 2004 to co-found Elevation Partners, and the related note is VG Holding Corp Appoints CEO has word that Riccitiello has resigned as part-time CEO for VG Holding to take the new job, and the new CEO of BioWare/Pandemic is Greg Richardson (also formerly of EA). Here's a bit on the EA move:
Riccitiello added, "Leading EA has always been my dream job and I am truly honored that Larry and the Board have given me this opportunity. This is an extremely well-run company driven by outstanding studio and publishing teams. They've also made strategic investments in new platforms and markets that will help extend EA's industry leadership in the years ahead."

Bioware was always just a watered-down Black Isle anyway.

Tell me how any of these RPGs are fundamentally different from Fallout? It's the same game. You could remake KOTOR II, or NWN2 in the Fallout engine and not miss anything, gameplay-wise. Not a single thing! The only change has been the graphics.

Mass Effect seems to be different, we'll see...
