Everyone in the industry except PC gamers has recognized for a few years now that the "flush money down the toilet every year to upgrade your PC" model of gaming is on the wane.

Good. I hope PC gamers stop upgrading and force devs to improve the quality of their engines again, as id used to do. These days, games devs use DX as a crutch, to hide the shoddiness of their engines. Bloated garbage like BF2, etc.

But it's not that bad. Nvidia is even releasing DX10 AGP cards. Older hardware still works, despite what the motherboard-peddlers in Taiwan want you to think, and despite script kiddie game devs who don't really know how to code.

Don't upgrade to Vista yet either.
