GameSpot announces that tomorrow will see the release of the playable demo for
Supreme Commander, Gas Powered Games' imminent RTS game. They predict the
release for tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. their time, which will be 12:30 p.m. EST. Word
is:
The demo will include an early portion of the single-player campaign for the Cybran Nation, one of the game's three playable factions. It will also include a skirmish map named "Finn's Revenge," which can be played on easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels.

EST is GMT-5. So 12:30 PM EST would be 5:30 PM GMT.
EST is the timezone for the east coast of North America (New York, Massachusetts, Florida, etc). We Americans are just used to thinking in our local timezones, partially because TV commericals used to say "Tonight at 8PM Estern, 5PM Pacific, prepare to see ..."
Personally I do a lot of work with colleagues in Switzerland and the UK so I have to always know what their times are.

I was a beta tester of this game as well. This game rocks. I preordered it as well. I don't know about the single player, but the multi player was awesome. Even though i had my ass handed to me 90% of the time. 
I don't think this game will please everyone, but it will be at least as good as Company of Heroes was, if not better. Although i don't think it will have as strong of a story as CoH had, but i usually don't care much about the story line anyways.

Hmm I was in the early Beta, there wasn't even an integrated online Service when I played it and performance was just horrible. Hoping the best for the demo...

SupCom is probably one of the best RTS games ever made. It definitely does not suck.
SC does rock, but it's sorta sad in a way how much a copy of TA it really is. If you're looking for innovation, look elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong, it IS a good game and TA2 is something a lot of people just wanted to see anyway (myself included), it's just a bit sad how similar it is.

Commanders have a lot of upgrades this time around, and yes, one similar to the D gun

Good to hear the positive beta impressions -- I loved Total Annihilation back in the day and was hoping this would turn out good when I heard about it.
Anyone know if the Commanders(?) have the equivalent of the old D-Gun from TA? Always got a kick out of that.

They reviewed a non retail build in pcgamer and gave it 91%?
In PC Gamer (you know, print), they reviewed and gave it 91% which is Editors Choice. Sounds like it's going to rock.

Can't wait to try demo cause I haven't had a good RTS in awhile.
Hope so too. The last great RTS I played was Company of Heroes (say what you will, that game rocked).
As a beta tester, I can confirm that this game kicks much ass. I happily pre-ordered last week. Can't wait for release.
Word on the street from all the forums I've read that are in the beta of this, it's an insanely kickass game. One of best RTS to come along in awhile. They also mentioned how incredibly polished each beta version has been as far as them cleaning it up each version. Can't wait to try demo cause I haven't had a good RTS in awhile.
