DOOM 3 Patches

As noted in Timothee Besset's .plan File, new patches are now available for DOOM 3, updating the PC, Mac, and Linux editions of id Software's first-person shooter sequel to version 1.31, and also updated the associated SDKs. Word is: "There is nothing major in this update, but we had accumulated various fixes and improvements over recent months and we felt it was worth putting a new release out. We've been testing the game under Vista, and we're also bringing back cross-platform multiplayer compatibility with the Mac (the installer was contributed by Aspyr[1])." The plan file has id's links and the downloads are mirrored on 3D Downloads, 3D Gamers, FileFront, and Gamer's Hell.

What should have been said instead - what other companies release new patches to an old game like this?

Give them some cred for that at least.

I am getting a feeling here that alot of you wouldnt be satisfied until the patch that makes D3 into Delta Force

Well it's like they ran out of nifty flashing lights to show you so they did one of two things.

1) touch a weapon and the floor drops and attacked by lots of baddies.
or
2) Monster Closets.

I was so annoyed by then, that I finally just turned on god mod just to get through the rest of the game.

I enjoyed it... Quake 4 for me seemed like what Doom 3 should have been, but I enjoyed it anyway because no other games does monster closets quite like D3

Edit: And whatever happened to a forum without lame siley faces? Ah well.

That's funny, I only see one other company noted by your list.

I was so annoyed by then, that I finally just turned on god mod just to get through the rest of the game.

That sounds more boring than just playing without godmode.

"Come on, Billy! Let's see what's on the other side of that corridor!.....Ah, more monsters. Shucks."

I did that too, just to see the end boss.

Blizzard keeps patching their games for so long because they're still full of bugs and exploits nearly a decade later.

And I thought Doom 3 was a good game.

Blizzard does.
Well id gets extra points here because not only did it develop the game for the three PC platforms, but it also simultaneously updated all three versions AND the SDK in this release. Now, that is a pretty much unprecedented update release.
