They think they always get enough QA but they're usually wrong. That's another reason why PC games and now often console games keep getting patches all the time.

Star Trek Legacy is a perfect example of how QA is bypassed to get Xmas sales. KOTOR 2 is another fine example.

As someone that has worked QA for many companies for many years while in college I can tell you that FUCK NO, games do not spend enough time in QA. Most could use at least 6 more months before they launch, and if they were made by "independant" software developers like Valve they would probably get it, but EA, Sega, THQ, Activision etc don't care about bugs or the quality of their titles, they care about MONEY.
