Out of the Blue

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Sorry about the failure to update yesterday. When I ambled in to check on things it turned out we had another mail outage, which was a bit more catastrophic than the previous recent glitch. A couple of years back we had a mail issue here and Frans and Kapi at 3D Gamers kindly set up our mail on one of their servers. This was a bit of a makeshift situation, and it's not surprising it came to a semi-disastrous end. The good news is that I was able to locate a proper host for our mail services that should be less prone to outages and such issues, and have everything changed over already. There was a DNS change involved in this that may make the site inaccessible for a bit (though this has taken place for me, and probably for most of you already), which may also result in some mail sent here to be delayed, and it seems likely that mail sent here between Saturday night and last night may be lost forever. But beyond that, hopefully the transition will be fairly smooth, and I am confident that our email is set up to be far more reliable than it was before.

I posted some first impressions of Lost Planet in today's "Consolidation" thread for anyone interested.

Per my usual methods, it's waaayyy too long, but what the hell -- it's been an unusually slow day at work and all I can think about is playing that game

Clip is actually from The Old Fashioned Way, from 1934, and as far as I know, is the only feature film where he shows off his juggling skills.

Oh and if it makes any difference, I'm refering to Tecmo Bowl with my wild and crazy Walter Payton antics; not Super Bowl.

yeah, the original Tecmo Bowl will be played on Super Bowl Sunday. On a NES.

(If this screws the page, increase your resolution you blind idiot!)

I think there were only 2-3 good teams - Bears being one of them. You could be on the 1 yard line, run all the way back to the back of the opposite endzone, and then run all the way for a touch down. Sick. And the defense! Holy smokes, don't even get me started.

Oh, sure. You give Walter Payton the ball and the game's over.

Actually - you have to run back every kick or punt.
You also have to intercept every pass.

If you remeber - the quaters were only a couple minutes long!

Wow, I would have thought you could easily find a non-bundle wii system online by now without going through Ebay. I haven't seen them anywhere, luckily I already bought one. Most people's best bet will be to look locally. Meanwhile I see newegg has PS3s in stock...

Good news: It's in stock.

Bad news: It's a bundle, and when I got mine they had a problem filling the game orders...

Good luck!

Guess I will be bringing a Revo home Super Bowl Sunday. I am pretty sure I have the record for most points in a game of Tecmo Bowl: 92-0.

What, you think him lying on the front lawn with his tongue hanging out of his mouth was intentional?

In all seriousness, glad everything's, ok. And yeah, don't be afraid to take a day off more often.

I just thought you were taking a day off. You should feign 'mail server outages' more often. Maybe every sunday?

I agree. Now Blue if ya told us in advance you were taking a few days off we could go ahead and get anti-depressants for the duration. Then again would be funny to have Gunnar and Hudson scratching at the Nin Van. 'What's that? Blue knocked himself out with a Revo-mote?'

But we do worry about ya Blue. Late updates are one thing, no updates and we start calling local New York Hospitals.
