Evening Q&As

  • C&C3: Tiberium Wars
The Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Preview on GameDaily offers a Q&A with Mike Verdu discussing the acting cast in the coming installment in the C&C RTS series: "The production values are quite high -- principal photography took place on multiple stages with several large physical sets. These sets will be extended with CG in post-production to give the locations a sense of scale (for example, some important scenes take place inside a vast futuristic temple filled with high tech machinery, religious iconography, and a score of acolytes -- some who were filmed as extras on the set and others who are being added in post-production). The live action scenes will also be intercut with full-screen high-end CG sequences such as a full scale air assault on a future version of Vancouver, the destruction of a huge orbiting space station with a nuclear missile, and a furious battle between two high tech armies, among others."
  • Silverfall
There's a Silverfall Q&A on The Official Silverfall Blog answering fan-submitted questions about Monte Cristo's upcoming action/RPG: "The mix of gameplay is where Silverfall shines: we’re blending elements from the hack ’n slash genre — fast-paced combat, item collection, etc. — with an immersive story, freedom of exploration and character evolution; players’ choices have a profound impact on the environment. In addition to that, we tried to adapt some of those elements to make them applicable to the action-RPG setting; for instance it was not very useful from our point of view to be able to make those choices if they would not to allow the player to make use of new skills or new special items."
  • Jack Thompson
The Jack Thompson Q&A on play.tm talks with the crusading lawyer about his crusades: "Cocaine is a popular "past time," too. That doesn't make its consumption, certainly by kids, something we ought to look away from. I don't gauge what I do based upon polls, and certainly not polls of gamers. I couldn't care less what some 14-year-old thinks is good or not good for him. I listen to scientists, health care providers, public safety officials, and I base what I do based upon their findings, not what some readers of Game Informer magazine wish was true because of how they waste their time."

The biggest problem of JT is that he sometimes sounds like a sane person and then he says unbelivable stuff like this:
Q:Are there any games you have personally enjoyed playing?

A:No. I have so little time on this earth that I choose not to waste it in what amounts to mental masturbation. I have played the violent games I have targeted to know what I am talking about. The stomping of women in GTA, in light of my representation of women who have been battered and raped made me nauseous. Anyone who "enjoys" a game like that is off his rocker.

Seriously, just stop reporting about JT, please. The less we know the better, and the less press that son of a bitch gets the less self-important he'll feel, and eventually he'll just go away.
