4D Rulers Follow-up

The 4D Rulers Forums have a follow-up on their efforts at generating end-user investment in their next game project (story). As they approach raising their target sum, they are offering access to an exclusive developer's area of their website for $50.00, access which will be granted freely to anyone investing in their game at a $500.00 level.

If these guys were Dynamix and they were making a proper Tribes sequel, I'd donate my first-born child.

Seriously, this guy is begging for charity (oop, investment plan!), and what's worse is - he doesn't even have a Design Doc by the looks of it - just an ad plan.

So people are throwing money at a guy with a plan that amounts to "It's Gore 2!!"

Also he has to reassure us that - "Trust me, I got a good programmer this time." - What happened last time?!?!

Peh, I'll just take my $50 ($500!?@!? He's actually asking for $1000 on the forum!) and play a little Unreal. I support the independents and all, but man - do it right, and do it better.

flipping
You should say 'fucking' if you want to say 'fucking'.

BTW, I agree. What's this guy talking about, Gore 1?

the AMP II engine demo released a couple years ago was graphically on a similar level to enhanced Q3 or Fear. You can still download the demo and see for yourself.
Well to me it looked most of all like the Doom3 engine, maybe that's a typo? q3 == d3?
Wether it was really that good or not, I don't know. But the game's design was so atrocious I feel the engine has never gotten a fair chance to show its power.

Hellbinder I think (if I remember correctly) that you were in the gaming industry. Any chance this is a project you are working on?

I'm all for indie developers and would totally support a project I believed in.

With that said, no offense to these guys, but the game looks lame.

I dunno, it just seems like I could back a more original looking concept then something that looks like a quake 2 mod.

whatever sequel they are working on clearly does not look or play like quake 2. It is flipping ridiculous that you mindless punks post crap like this constantly.

the AMP II engine demo released a couple years ago was graphically on a similar level to enhanced Q3 or Fear. You can still download the demo and see for yourself.

the Game they would release would obviously have decent to quality graphics and have really nice and fun multiplayer. Gore multiplayer was an awesome multiplayer deathmatch game.

there is plenty of room in the current world of BF clones for a classic Multiplayer shooter with cool custom ideas like

1. Fatigue factor
2. All weapons, armor, ammo, health etc are destructible.
3. Fatigue based weapon damage

most of you never played gore multiplayer you are just claiming to have. Obviously you have never looked at the AMP II demo from a few years ago.

Wow, I didn't know that people today are willing to pay 500$+ to play a game. I thought that 50$ for a game was already a travesty.

My interpretation: Either you pay $500 to invest in the game (and get access to the developer's area for no additional cost), or you pay $50 once to access the developer's area only. I could be mistaken, as with anything..

So you have to give them 500, and then you have to give them 50 to gain access to the dev area?

I actually wish these guys luck......as small indie developers are probably the last hope for true computer gaming while the rest of the market goes to subpar crossplatform games that leave computer gamers eating the table droppings of the consoles.
