We're off to Florida in the morning for 4 days (back Sunday eve/night) to see Heather's mom. Don't know if I mentioned it or not, but she was released from the hospital just before Christmas... but she's headed into hospice care (at home first). Her liver and other systems are so far gone there's nothing that can be done.

In one way it's something of a relief as Heather and her aunt (mom's sister) can stop fighting Mom to try and get her to eat, to take her meds, to stop drinking (yes, she's still drinking), etc. -- it just doesn't matter now. But it's still sad, since she's only 57.

Jeebus... best wishes to you and the fam, Z.

Anyway, hope everyone has a happy new year. Party, but drive safe damnit!

Same to you! I'll be sleeping over at a friend's after watching the ball/globe/thing drop.... next day, D&D or some such. after that, another empty week where I can do whatever.... anyone care to drop by my place and lay down vocals?
