I really really cannot see a problem with this GFW push by Microsoft.
So what you'll have to buy Vista to play new games. Correct me if i'm wrong but werent there quite a few XP only games released when XP was?
Microsoft are just trying to enabling PC gaming easier for those unable/unwilling to learn the complete ins and outs of sustaining a PC. The number of times i've gone into a local GAME and bought a PC game to have someone behind the counter say "Have you read the specs? Can your machine handle it, because we dont offer refunds/trade ins with PC games". Now how many parents that aren't seriously into computers, know the difference between a P4 3GHZ and an AMD 64 3500+. I'll bet you pretty much most dont.
So why are so many people clamouring all over this saying it's stupid, it'll force us to buy Vista etc etc etc. No doubt you'll buy vista in the future. No doubt quite a few games will provide XP support as well. So what the hell is the problem?
I'm probably rambling again and not making more sense, but i don't care. This is a good thing. It means more games (hopefully good) for the PC with less hassel in trying to figure out if your computer can play the game without some show stopping hardware incompatability.
And to respond to nin, what the fuck is the problem with a Microsoft cross-platform compatability gaming system? Just because it's Microsoft it should be denounced and claimed as a spawn of the devil? Fuck that. It's handy.
Argh time to take some more "chill pills" i think
Edit: I was going to type something in rebuttle to Grandmaster Demonlord Toadeater, but i just can't type anything coherent enough due to the red mist i'm currently viewing.
