Maybe I just suck at RPGs in my old age, but I don't see why everyone keeps saying NWN2 is easy. I survive all of my fights, but I have to do an occasional reload/"rest after every fight"/"take advantage of some game mechanic" to keep going. I don't find it easy at all. Maybe my gear sucks or something - I don't know. I've always found D&D games challenging when playing on D&D Hardcore Rules difficulty.

yeh its especially easy if you have a predisposition to strategy and tactics and trying to work the D&D system for stackable advantages, etc. etc.

my main hero dude hasnt gone below 90% HP in a long long time

definately a big difference from the old Gold Box days - that shit was punishing

It's probably one of the best party based RPGs in a long time, just because there hasn't been a party based RPG in a long time.

Would 2 weeks more of QA really hurt the sales!!

Atari's needed to figure that out on just about every major title they've release in like two years. The only game they put out that wasn't buggy with Indigo Prophecy and that's only because the game was already done when they took it over from another publisher. There's still severe issues that have been left unfixed in Test Drive Unlimited. Atari really needs a huge shakeup at the top.

I'd say that storyline and character development take precedence in adventures, where all you do is talk to people and solve puzzles. Difficulty should be a factor in RPGs. Nothing less satisfying than facing the final boss and then completely pwning him in seconds. Reminds me of KotoR2, where all the much-hyped Sith Lords were complete pushovers.

"Oh yes, he can completely suck the life out of an entire planet..."
"His rage and hatred are so powerful that it keeps him alive long after his body has been shattered..."

Pushover bosses are bad in any game, especially in RPGs where they are hyped so much.

I don't understand all the complaining about difficulty. There's hardly any "hard" in games, especially RPGs. They're all easy, extremely easy. You don't play games like NWN for adrenaline boosts.. but for the story and character development (imo).

Neverwinter Nights 2 has a good story, good character development and everything else a RPG fan would expect.

NWN 2 ftw!

There is a difficulty slider... if it's too easy crank it up to double damage ;p

At first I really dug this game, leveling up my Wizard to lvl 10 or so and finishing the first act. But, when I realized I couldn't bone nkeesha, nor could I cast my favorite spell Stop Time, I gave up my wizard. Honestly, he kinda sucked anyways...usually I would just melee stuff down. Game is too easy...

Like Obsidian's KOTOR2, this game is way too easy and is, in many ways, not a game but just an interactive book. There's no challenge!

Me and my friend hope to jack up the difficulty of the OC to Final Fantasy 12 levels through the Toolset someday. Then this game will be a classic

Atari is a publisher, Piranha Bytes is a developer. In this case, a valid comparison would be Atari v.s. Jowood. They both suck.

Yea, well, Atari is about 100 times the size of Pirahna so no excuse on their part.

Both games are buggy as all hell, really sucks.

It was definitely VERY bugged on release. Nowhere near the ridiculous disaster that was Gothic 3, but still VERY buggy. Atari spent a grand total of 11 dollars to have this Q&A'd.

Haven't played it in over a week, still need to finish it, just have no interest to.
