Steam RACE

Valve announces that RACE is coming to Steam, and that SimBin's World Touring Car Championship game will be available for digital distribution on November 24, 2006. In this case, retail boxed copies will also include Steam services, a first for a non-Valve product: "In addition, all retail copies of RACE sold for the PC in the EMEA territories will include Steam functionality for auto-updating, matchmaking, and anti-piracy encryption."

Why does the R look like the "R" from PGR?

Actually the Red Orchestra retail box is also steam-dependent. so that makes it the third non-valve steam-game not made by valve.

Is this another game based on the GTR engine?

Wish they'd do a WRC game.

I think Blue is refering to the fact that Steam is being included in a box product that's not made by Valve. ie, if you were to buy RACE in a store you'd have Steam included in that version as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that wasn't true of Sin Episodes.

edit: Check that. It seems Steam was in Sin Episodes boxes too

I thought Sin Episodes 1 Emergence wasn't a Valve product either.
