I'd bet Crysis ends up being a Vista exclusive. Heh. Not unless Microsoft is going to fork over a WHOLE lot of dough. Despite Microsoft's desires and promises that Everyone Will Switch To Vista On The Day Of Its Release, the reality will be that most people will simply stay on Windows XP.
So for a game developer to make its game Vista/DX10 exclusive would mean they'd immediately shut out, what, 85-90% of their potential market?
Hey, I guess if financial suicide is your thing, it makes sense
I wouldn't worry about that.
I sincerely believe Vista will be the key to the revival of PC GamingYou can't revive something that isn't dead. PC Gaming is doing fine. Sure, consoles sell more games, so what? As long as the PC market keeps making more money every year, it's doing fine, and most years it does exactly that.
I'm looking forward to it and I forsee the general public eventually seeing PC games as a great alternative to their consoles. Since people will need better PC's with decent video cards to run VistaThese two sentences are at odds with each other. Vista is going to be a totally retarded resource hog. People will have to spend a LOT of money to get even Vista to run well, much less any games on it. And this is somehow going to lead to an INCREASE in people playing PC games? While instead they can buy a 400-600 dollar console and get games that look just as good?
Somehow I seriously doubt it.
