I'm gonna go one better and guess that they kinda discourage pr0n up there, so that should cut their bandwidth needs quite a bit.

I thought about putting exactly that in my earlier post and say that hell had the same ISP provider as heaven but all the servers that they can connect too are on single dial-up modems. (not the isdn type even.)

I wonder, what kind of bandwidth do you suppose is available in heaven?

I believe the brochure said they have 600.000 kbps SDSL (synchronous, same speed out as in) And they have a fully 'no hassle' working DX 9.0c version of Wine as well.

edit:
Of course, that also raises the question of "Is Heaven Hell for pr0n lovers? And if you had too much pr0n on Earth, are you sent to Heaven as punishment?"

My coffee maker is dead......*sob*.....

My condolences, on the death of a much needed family member. escpecially at such a young age.
As for myself Im looking into getting me a coffe maker that is HTCPCP (Hyper Text Coffe Pot Controll Protocoll)compliant. ( http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2324.txt )

I found point 2.1.1 escpecially interesting.

I doubt any game can be as cool as Coleman and Charlie Parker.
And getting another 2G of ram doesnt sound like much of a solution to me. I just built myself a new system and since I was on a budget I only went with one gig of ram, but I still have yet to see myself use more than 880mb in taskman.
And I keep finding threads on the web where people have 4G of isntalled and working ram but Windoze only sees to use 2.7 and from there rumors of registry hacks in order to enable xp to allocate over 2G. This is of course complicated further by these guys not specifying a real difference between real physical ram and xp's virtual ram(page file). Personaly I am tempted to see if I could get another stick of 1G in my machine since It just might happen that I wind up running some more complex scenes/models in 3dsmax.
As a side note I am currently sitting at a machine with 512mb or ram and currently using 330 of it, thats while running a small local SQL server, opera with 7 tabs, skype,MSN, and Norton av. INOW and INMHO only the very latest games (NWN2 probably more than most) have any use for more than 1gig of ram. And throwing more Ram at XP doesnt make sense, unless you want to get ready for vista wich I expect will have optimal functionality at about 24-30 gig of ram...

EDIT: I feel you Blue, its been 14 years and 8 months since my father died in a work accident and I still get pangs of grief, March 2 1992 is as engraved in my mind as 9/11.

(NWN2) it's amazing! It is a GPU pig however

Woe unto you oh owner of a sub-minimum system, it would be better for you to have a large millstone hung about your neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea than to not be able to play NWN2. You are all pansies. From now on you are all named Stephanie.

I guess now would be a very inappropriate time to link to that site that is nothing but “yo’ mamma jokes” huh?

All joking aside blue, sucks man. My mom is going to live forever and there is nothing anybody can do about it. Nope, never going to die. I hope my sense of humor does not offend you in this case. As I do not make them to offend, that isjust my sense of humor. And I try to write on here conversationally and not formally, and I know what I meant when I write it and they often can come across different then what was intended, because of the nature of spoken language.

So far so good. The game looks so much better than the original it's amazing! It is a GPU pig however, and I think there are some particle issues with ATI cards as some of the spells and meshes can look somewhat pixelated at times.

I set everything on max and it looked friggin awesome. Entirely unplayable (a step above slideshow mode), but really pretty. I'm now running everything at medium-high and it's very playable and still looks great. My specs in case anyone was wondering...

AM2 2.2Ghz duo core
2 gigs of OCZ 667 gold RAM
SATAII WD HD
MSI Mobo 1000FSB
LG 19" widescreen LCD
ATI X850 XT 256 meg vid card

Getting a new card in December so that should make a difference. I may pick up another 2 gigs of ram too, but I'd like to see this game on a 512 X1950 first. The camera is a bit sticky as some people have mentioned and I hope it gets worked out ASAP, apart from that it technically seems pretty solid.

Gameplay is fun. Tons of options for character creation. Items/equipment look great. Spells look super cool! Voice acting and story all seem top-notch so far. Already ran into some giths and the like and the game has definite elements of Planescape to it, which is nice. Anyway, just heading off to Neverwinter now so we'll see how the big city is looking. The dynamic lighting is killer too!

Fired up the toolset briefly to check it out. Looks complex, yet comprehensive. Will definitely take some time to see what it can do and how easy it really is to use.

Game (got the DVD version) comes with the DVD, a cd for a 7 day trial of DDO and a decent 177 page manual chock full of everything you need for the game.

Overall it seems really good initially and I axniously await seeing what the community will do with it for modules and persistent worlds. Anyhoo, back to the game!
