New Medieval II: Total War Demo

A new demo for Medieval II: Total War is now available, offering an updated sample of Creative Assembly's turn-based strategy sequel. A magazine cover-disk demo for the game hit the internet a couple of weeks ago (story), and this demo offers the same content as that one with the addition of a new Battle of Otumba map. The download is available from Sega of America and mirrors of the 640 MB download can be found on 3D Gamers, FileFront, VGPRO, and Worthplaying.

Total War: (On Fredrickson)

I'm SOOOO there when this one comes out.

As far as Medieval 2 TW, I can't remember anticipating a game this much since HL2. Come on November 17th!

GNNNGGGGGGGGGHHHHH...

Very excited about the game, I just hope that (strange as it may seem), the tactical part of the game becomes a bit less involved in this one. I hated that in the original medieval you eventually had to put five priests and three spies in every land you owned, otherwise a single spy would completely paralyze your entire armies, and create 9000 men rebellions every turn.

Rome suffered less from this issue, although the rebellions were still kind of crazy. Oh look, a 5000 soldier rebellion 4 inches away from rome, where you have just 500 men guarding it, since all your armies are at the front. So sorry.
Oh btw, those 5000 troops are all better trained than your praetorians.

Okayyyyyy.

Just a little less aggravating would be nice. Also, it seems that in every game, a single playthrough takes longer and longer. You could finish a game of Shogun in an evening. Medieval and Rome easily take four days, but 3 days of that was just mopping up, since you'd realistically already won (nobody was strong enough to defeat you anymore.)
The game basically just annoyed you to shit with idiot rebellions every turn.
I'm hoping that they've really changed that this time around, either make the mopping up phase less irritating, or keep throwing real challenges at the player.

Oh, and I wish CA would tackle a futuristic setting next, actually. Think that might be pretty awesome.

I'm still hoping that they will do a Napoleon: Total War.

Napoleonic has already been done very well in a mod, and I think a Total war style game came out some time ago to thou the name escapes me. What I really want to see is post-medieval and pre-napoleonic warfare which has largely been ignored. The only game I can think of that covered the period was Cossaks.

I would like to see the next Total War do something different. I would be interested to see something like the wars of when China first formed under Qin Dynasty. How about revisit Japan?
