Euro WoW: Burning Crusade Beta Testing

WorldofWar.Net relates plans for European closed beta testing of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade:
Hello! We would like to give you some insight into our invitation process for the upcoming closed Beta of The Burning Crusade.

We are inviting players from all different playing areas. And we feel we have a pretty fair distribution, so as to make sure that when T.B.C. comes out we will have had beta testing of all the many, different aspects of our exciting, first World of Warcraft expansion.

To maximise the testing process we intend to introduce players into the test in multiple waves. People who aren't in at the beginning of the test could very well be invited in a subsequent phase.

Testers will be contacted in due time. For those who do receive invites, we will not be asking you for your password or account name, so don't be fooled by any scams.

And last but not least, we'll be providing more information to everyone soon!

I played world of grindcraft since the US beta and enjoyed it until it started to turn into a raidfest.

Six can explain it at lot better than I can but Blizzard has serious changes in the works with regards to itemization and how things are calculated in game.

The bottom line is that By the time you hit level 65 the T1 epics from Molten Core will be worth less than the blues you are seeing at 65.

If they had continued with their current itemization and calculations the stuff from Blackwing Lair and above would most likely have been better than any blue at item at 70.

Now this is nice for a few reasons in my opinion and is one of the small number of reasons I'm even considering purchasing the expansion.

1. It will allow people to switch main characters without any penalty whatsoever compared to people that have stuck with one main for all of the regular game.

2. It will seriously screw the people that thought they would have a leg up due to their heavy raiding practices.

Speaking from the perspective of a person that raided 4 nights a week for almost 2 years, I would say that having more 5/10 man content and more solo stuff would do wonders for WoW.

Well look at it?! dont you have any aesthetic sense!? ill-proportioned/chunky looking characters, the color schemes a complete mess, if you look at some screen shots its hard to tell what's what it all blends together like a regurgitated pizza. I guess kids these days dont give a $hit about that

personally I dont mind the graphics of WoW, some zones in the game I think actually look really nice. But I understand how many people dont like this cartoony look.

Take a look at Warhammer Online, its still a little cartoony but not as much as WoW, some of the monsters actually look a bit scary even which is good because in WoW sometimes you're not sure if you should attack the mobs or hug them. At least in the warhammer screenshots there seems to be alot less cuteness going on. If the gameplay people do as good a job as the art department we should be onto a winner.

I have my hopes up for warhammer, i still have not read any of the backstory or anything about the gameplay, but from forums it sounds like there will be strong emphasis on pvp *thumbs up*. Lets wait and see.

I played world of grindcraft since the US beta and enjoyed it until it started to turn into a raidfest. One day, developers will make an astonishing discovery, that not all RPGers like to raid and will start to add GOOD content for the solo player and small groups. Yes WoW does has some very nice 5 man instances but please compare the rewards to the large raid rewards, you cant really.

I think sony was on the right track with the lost dungeons of norrath expansion for everquest, obviously if that were done again today we would need alot more variety in the dungeons and make them a real challenge, also make them for very small groups like 2 people or even for the solo player.

My buddy works for Blizzard & invited me in the friends & family Beta. I didn't take the offer because for some reason I just cant get into this game. I do like RPG's like NWN, Deus Ex, etc. Just cant get into WOW.
