Instinct Revealed

The Instinct Website is online, a home to a previously unannounced first-person shooter from Digital Spray Studios that's due for release later this year. This is a story driven game based on a real-life explosion in North Korea a couple of years ago. So far only the Russian-language info for the project is online, but the Wikipedia offers an account of the Ryanggang explosion upon which the game is based. The first screenshots for the game are also now available.

The ak-47 in the screenshots has the ejection port on the wrong side and the safety is on...

That kid's name looks like Luthifer, as if he's trying to be evil but has a lisp. Kinda like here, where he's trying to be cool but just looks like a dick. Kinda like that.

I think that game wins a prize for managing to include a crate with every single of those dozens of screenshots.

It takes game design to a whole new level. Don't hide it. Flaunt it.

There are a lot of good artists and programmers in russia but there storytelling techniques leave something to be desired. I look at the screenshots it reminds me of other eastern european games like Vivisector, Alpha Prime, Boiling Point, etc. The screens look good but when you play the game you realize it still needs more polish.

This is not a knock against eastern european devs; I think they have a lot of talent.
