The
Khan: The Absolute Power Website
(thanks
Frans) has the announcement (posted yesterday in spite of the date it
carries) that IENT is shutting down Khan as of yesterday, frankly saying the
game does not meet their high standards. (Time out for a quick Kirk scream.) As
consolation to Khan subscribers, they are offering a variety of perks, though no
refunds:
At this time we (IENT) feel that the current version of Khan
does not meet our high standards of game play and the lack of on-going
development by Mirinae would be insufficient to improve this situation.
Therefore, IENT will be discontinuing the game effective 9 AM EST Sept 5, 2006.
All currently subscribed accounts will receive 1 free month in Helbreath and
Legend of Mir3 in addition to having any full months that remain on their Khan
subscription transferred to both games. Please take a look at each game at their
respective websites: www.helbreathusa.com
and www.lom3.com. HelbreathUSA is a strong PvP
game with a variety of events; Mir3 has strong RPG, questing and PvP action.
You can also receive 1 free month of Warbirds, our award-winning flight
simulator, by contacting support@ient.com;
you can check out Warbirds 2006 at
www.totalsims.com. It's a superb flight simulator and lots of fun learning
the various techniques to utilize the planes to their best advantage in
dogfights. It does have a Training Arena, so it can be an excellent introduction
for new players also!
Anyone who has paid for a 3 or 6 month subscription will receive a credit in
each game for any remaining full months on their subscription. For example: if
you paid for a 6 month subscription on Aug 8, you will have the 5 full months
that remain on your subscription credited to both Helbreath and Mir, as well as
the 1 free month for each game. This gives you 6 months on Helbreath, 6 months
on Mir3 and, if requested, 6 months on Warbirds to check out each game.
In addition, all Khan players will be accepted as closed beta testers on any new
games we test and participants will receive a free month in those games after
they go pay-to-play.
