EA and Crytek?

EA executive hints of possible acquisition of Crytek on TG Daily (thanks Allen) is a story speculating about EA's interest in the German developer, saying: "According to article published in 'Die Welt,' EA's executive vice president and general manager of international publishing Gerhard Florin described Crytek as a 'very, very interesting candidate' for an acquisition." Of course I consider Angelina Jolie a very, very interesting candidate for a mistress, but that doesn't mean MrsBlue or Brad Pitt need to start lining up private investigators, so we shall see what comes of this.

The problem with EA collecting all these companies is that they do the same blanket strategy on all of them which includes porting to all consoles. It's obvious to me that a person with a mouse & keyboard will completely decimate anyone who requires the archaic controls of a console hand-controller, and so every one of our games will be polluted right away by that alone: Let alone the other blanket strategies that strangle any kind of really powerful creativity. Large companies STIFLE CREATIVITY! They make everything in their own image & stamp out any real creatity out there by forcing it to conform with the EA image. EA is their worst enemy.

Also, someone else stated that EA's profit-mongering leads to less support for games.

And the entire knowledgable crowd of gamers realizes that Crysis will be the last good game from that team. What could have been a dynasty has been absorbed by the Gaming Company Profit Whore who will destroy any kind of possibility for the legacy that Farcry was going to become.

I can't believe that they sold out. ID Software wouldn't do that. Valve wouldn't do that. Both companies make other mistakes, but selling out & the entire gaming public watching a truly interesting gaming engine sink into the Electronic Farts bullshit machine of making everything less than what it could be away from big company producer single-vision idiocy makes this gaming engine immediately obsolete. EA will destroy it. They have no one in command that understands PC gaming. EA will DESTROY this gaming franchise.
