El Matador Demos

Not one but two new demos for El Matador are now available, offering a pair of samples of Plastic Reality Technology's upcoming third-person action game. The unfortunate, aspect of this two-headed demo situation is that each considerable download includes the exact same tutorial, and much in the way of redundant game assets, and what's even more inexplicable is that by using the same installshield for each, only one of the demos can be installed on a system at one time. The demos can be found on the Cenega Publishing Website using the uncommon .rar compression, and zipped versions are now also available, demo one is on on 3D Gamers, Computer Games, FileFront, Gamer's Hell, VGPRO, and Worthplaying. Demo two is on 3D Gamers, Computer Games, FileFront, Gamer's Hell, VGPRO, and Worthplaying.

Yeah, w2k users get screwed again. The readme file lists the OS as w2k/xp, but I get an error message when I try to run it. Checked the game's website and only xp is listed. I just downloaded a 950 meg demo for nothing.

F_ck this game.

Don't know why there's been so many naysayers so far so I'll add that this is actually kind of fun. The physics are quite fun to watch, with shooting through wooden objects, and the game is quite challenging so far. Granted, it's nothing new and the graphics look a little pre-Farcry, but it certainly doesn't suck. So far.
/edit
Just completed the second demo. This is some fun single-player shoot'emup.
Kudos.

I haven't downloaded it yet but after looking at the screenshots it sure looks like this game might be using the Cry Engine. Is it?

Am I to understand that this game is *not* about bull fighting?

nothing could be more exciting than pushing left to jump left or right to jump right whilst holding a red cape for a 14 pixel bull to charge.

and at 950 Mb! it's perfect ... music by PapaRoach..

why doesnt ethiopia build levees

Probably the same reason the US doesn't (or at least build adequate ones) - they cost money.

Wow, a game that requires this much trial&error should have functional quickload. I tried out the second demo, and it appears to reload the map when doing quickload, which totally sucks the flow out of playing. Other than that, it plays a lot like max payne. Something about the controls doesn't feel quite right, i think its because the player moves so damn slow when aiming down the sight. Setting/ambience is really good, but level design is not. I'll pass on it.
