Red Ocean Announced

Publisher dtp announces Red Ocean, a first-person shooter in the works at Collision Studios that puts the player in the role of a diving instructor and treasure hunter contending with terrorists and water "in all 3 states of aggregation." Here's word on the game, due in February 2007:
Hamburg, Germany: August 16, 2006 – German publisher dtp entertainment AG today announced Red Ocean, a new action game: the first person shooter will be release under the ANACONDA label in February 2007.

Red Ocean combines innovative shooter gameplay with unique underwater elements. Players take on the role of diving instructor and treasure hunter Jack Hard, who stumbles upon a secret Russian cold war research station deep underneath the ocean surface. As he discovers, it is controlled by a terrorist organization – and before he knows it, he gets caught in their nefarious schemes.

The unique twist: players will deal with water in all 3 states of aggregation: in liquid form it not only enables you to approach enemies unnoticed by diving but can also conveniently drown a baddie. At sub-zero temperatures it quickly becomes a dangerously slippery surface and hot steam is nothing to mess with either – whether above or below the water line, Red Ocean is sure to take your breath away.

Red Ocean is being developed by Collision Studios.

Last time I checked bioshock was set in a collapsed randian utopia full of ruined art deco architecture and there wasn't a terrorist in sight, I don't think that both of them can be considered to have the same setting just because they're "set below sea level".

It seems monsterously unfair to lump bioshock in with another piece of sub tom clancy drek just because they both feature water.

Could be worse, could be Rod Hard

No, I'd say that Jack Hard is worse, since Jack can act as a verb.

Hmmm... so along with BioShock this is the 2nd game that's going to be set below sea level then.
I wonder if this is going to become the latest trend after we have had to suffer through shitloads of organic, alien settings recently. Please let it not be.

Terrrorists controlling an post-cold war, research station under the sea? Man, not even Stretch Armstrong stretched that far. This sounds unbelievably bad.

The unique thing is that water plays obviously a center role in this game which is kind of a first for a fps.
Sounds like a fun concept!
