Vampire Bloodlines Patch

Homebrew support for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines continues, as there is a new version 2.6 patch for the action/RPG from now-defunct developer Troika Games. As always, this third-party patch is offered as an "as-is" unsupported release, addressing some lingering bugs in the game. The patch is available on 3D Gamers.

I think I should buy this game now that's it's fairly old, in the bargain bins, and has had all the bugs patched.

Yeah this is a great game (although I don't like the combat much). Definitely underrated and it's great to see the community keeping it alive.

Also the Main reason Troika went out of business.
That year delay due to the Valve Source Hacker, the game got delayed for a year, Activision pulled work on VtMB till about 3(?) months before release, also caused the Multiplayer to be scraped and Troika didn't have extra work lined up and couldn't get paid by Activision, due to no sales.
So when I fianlly came out the loss of Multiplayer and the abundance of bugs due to work stopage, killed sales.

Alot of people were effected by that kid, well I guess he was about 17 or 18.

Bloodlines couldn't legally have been released before HL2 because it used the Source engine. Valve/Vivendi didn't want another game showing up with their engine before their own game. This is why Bloodlines was delayed along with HL2. Unfortunately, it looks like Activision didn't do anything with the game during these delays, resulting in a game that was very unpolished.

I tried to verify this, because i swore i had a copy of Bloodlines well ahead of HL2, but i didn't remember for sure. Some sites report that HL2 became available on November 23rd, some report that it became available on November 16th. Bloodlines was released on the 16th. So, well, i'm not really sure. I definitely remember playing Bloodlines first, though. Whatever.

Were down to just a couple of llast bugs, here's the list.

v2.6
----
Added missing xp for plague quest and fixed Hannah quest state bug.
Made Tseng not offer blood as he doesn't even know about vampires.
Venus will now give you a constant $250 payment when you visit her.

Removed another double Malkavian line and clarified two quest logs.
Fixed a bug that reset Yukie's quest if you spoke with Ming again.
Made Chunk not be in the Asylum anymore after you met him downtown.

Wasnt there a story some time back that the code and tools were released to the public? I'm not sure, might be thinking of another game.

I agree. I would have to say that this game gets far better support than any other game I've ever owned. The fact that the support comes from people that are doing it on their own is irrelevant. The fact that they're doing it without access to the source code or any built-in tools just makes their dedication to the game that much more amazing.
